HOW TO PLAY: Groundlings function similarly to Hirelings, except they level up. All groundlings begin in their “Green Leaf” stage then can mature into their “Bulb” and “Flower” stages which unlocks more item slots and sometimes unique abilities

ROCK UPDATE: Depending on the soil, a groundling might form to a rock when it grows underground, giving  it “Grit”

GLOW UPDATE: Groundlings who die in their flower stage have a chance of being resurrected, though they return weaker and glowing…

This idea was originally formed on my blog and I'm probably going to expand it further in the future.
